Sustainability & Ethics
The truth is that almost no activewear is truly sustainable. This is because the types of materials used are synthetic and the growth and production processes use large quantities of water. Even bamboo, hemp and organic cotton clothing use large amounts of water - so it’s important to understand how clothing manufacturers consider their contribution to the wider circular economy and how each part of their process affects our delicate planet .
At Ballet Fusion, we use high quality materials so that our clothing lasts a long time and we make sure that we are sustainable and ethical at every possible stage of our production process; from material sourcing to workers rights and packaging.
Did you know that over 90% of garments end up being thrown away? A huge number! Please don’t ever throw your clothing away. Even unwearable rags can be recycled - so pass down, resell, donate or pop into a recycling collection point.
Circular Economy
We source our materials from reputable suppliers who are committed to supporting the circular economy. This means that where possible, materials are recyclable and have used as little energy as possible to produce. We also consider the chemicals and pollutants used to produce and dye fabrics and in the finishing and factory waste.
Recyclable & compostable packaging
In our quest to be as environmentally friendly as possible, we always ship our products in recyclable and biodegradable or compostable packaging.
workers rights
We work with manufacturers who are as passionate about workers rights as we are. This includes ensuring a good working environment, fair wages and fair hours.
Reducing waste & energy rationing
To reduce waste as much as possible, we donate excess clothing to charity and make sure all offcuts and excess material are used to make smaller items and accessories (such as headbands). Our factories are partaking in energy rationing in response to the global energy crisis.
