Posture & Alignment - Elongate the core and spine
A vast quantity of our time is spent sitting down (whether for work or leisure activities) - however, this can have an impact on our overall posture and balance as our body becomes so accustomed to sitting and muscles begin to atrophy.
Over time, bad posture can lead to:
Neck pain
Spinal misalignment
Joint degeneration
Poor digestion
Impaired lung function
Headaches
Jaw pain
Sinus problems
This class focuses on lengthening the spine and allows us to become more aware of the significant importance of posture - not only during dance and fitness classes, but it will also help you to integrate your postural knowledge into your daily life.
This class is perfect for you if:
You want to improve your overall posture and balance or you spend a lot of time sitting down or looking down.
When?
Wednesday at 11:30 am (UK Time)
Equipment
A chair or something you can use as a barre (not all classes will use a barre)
A mat / rug / comfy flooring for floor work and stretching.
You will need (for online classes):
A chair or something you can use as a barre (tabletop, counter top etc).
Enough space to lift your leg in front, to the side and behind you. (Move those vases!)
A yoga mat / towel / comfy flooring for mat work and stretching.
A computer or phone you can link to the class through set up in a place you can see clearly.
The tech bit:
We use Zoom for our live classes. When you book your class, you will receive a booking confirmation with the Zoom live-stream link as well as class time and date.
We’ll also email you a reminder of the live-stream link 1 hr before class.
