Private adult ballet lessons are perfect if you are looking for one-on-one tuition to learn or improve ballet technique. Adult ballet can improve strength, flexibility, posture and fitness - and private sessions allow you to achieve impressive results in a shorter space of time. Who should take private adult ballet lessons?

Everyone can benefit from private sessions. Private adult ballet lessons are ideal:

  • If you have never done ballet before and want a head start

  • If you did ballet when you were younger and you want to refresh your knowledge and technique

  • If you are looking to tone and sculpt your body like a ballerina

  • If you have specific goals such as losing weight, toning legs and glutes, improving core strength, achieving pirouettes etc.

  • If you used to dance and are recovering from injury.

  • If you are (or were) an intermediate or advanced ballet dancer and want to focus on technique or specific areas of ballet

  • If you are prepping for an audition or exam and would like extra tuition and coaching

How many private adult ballet sessions will I need?

How many private sessions you have / need is entirely up to you and we can work with you to decide this if you are unsure. You may just want one or two lessons to get to know the ballet basics and get a head start for getting the most out of group classes. Or you may be an experienced or advanced ballerina who wants to really focus on specific areas of ballet and technique, in which case, ongoing private sessions may be your preference.

We’ll speak to you before your first private lesson to find out what level you are and what you’re looking to achieve. We will then tailor a personalised lesson plan just for you.

Generally, private lessons will start with a warm-up and barre work. We’ll move into the centre and, depending on what the focus of the session is, we’ll plan specific exercises to help you achieve your goals or improve in specific areas. Throughout the session we will spend time working on correct positioning, technique and making sure you are benefiting fully from each exercise and improving safely.
