Get to know Megan - our Irish Dancing, Liverpudlian who lives on the south coast and loves to teach Floor Barre. Catch her teaching our Torquay class every week 💛

Where do you live?

Torquay, Devon

When did you first start dancing?

I started dancing when I was 3 years old. I was besotted with Riverdance and would watch it every night after school. Once I found a place where I could learn how to Irish dance, it very quickly became my world.

Which is your favourite Ballet Fusion class to teach?

My favourite class to teach is Floor Barre, as I believe both fitness and dance should be enjoyed by all. No matter your age, restriction, ability or limitation. With the class being relatively static, it allows anyone and everyone to enjoy the benefits of ballet without any high demand or strain on the body.

Do you have a favourite ballet?

DISCLAIMER! I’ve never been to the ballet.

What other exercise do you do?

I have a love and passion for all forms of health and fitness and endeavour to move my body in some way everyday. To keep things fresh and entertaining I try to keep my training as versatile as possible. I therefore love multiple styles of fitness such as, weight lifting, Hiit, crossfit, yoga, pilates, barre, dance.. You name it… I love it all.

Who is your most inspirational dancer?

Growing up and being immersed in the world of competitive Irish Dance, my inspiration was definitely Jean Butler. However, once I got to college and began training in professional musical Theatre, my favourite dancers/ performers quickly became Cyd Charisse and Sutton Foster.

Cyd Charrise

Which is your favourite style of dance?

I will always have a massive love for Irish Dancing as it was the catalyst for the rest of my life. But I think as my career progressed I developed a massive love for stylised jazz forms of dance, such as Fosse.

What’s a skill you would like to learn?

After recently relocating down to the South Coast from Liverpool, my biggest goal is to learn how to paddleboard and surf. I love the ocean so I am desperate to conquer some sort of water sport.

Tell us something people might not know about you?

In high school I designed an award that was chosen to be made and presented at and awards ceremony in London.

What’s your favourite movie?

Oh gosh! I am a massive movie buff - there are far too many but I think my favourite is… Jurassic Park.

Whats’ your favourite food?

AI love Asian inspired cooking and food. My favourite is definitely Thai. But Im also a massive lover of seafood.

Where would your dream holiday be?

To spend time with the Orangutan orphans in Borneo

What is your spirit animal?

My dog - Bailey

What should we watch?

A: As I am super into Health and Fitness, I recently watched an incredible series called ‘Limitless’ with Chris Hemsworth on Disney+. Heaps of thought provoking content.
