Ballet Fusion Pointe Prep
Pointe Preparation - Building Strength for Pointe Work
If you’ve always dreamt of dancing on pointe, this is the class for you. It’s never too late to go up on pointe but it can be too soon! This class is designed to prepare your feet, ankles, legs and core for pointe work.
Starting at the barre, we work through exercises specifically designed to build strength in all the key areas. We also work on posture, technique and relevé strength to make sure you are well prepared to go on pointe safely and confidently.
We use traditional ballet terminology throughout this class but don’t worry, we also use plain English and the exercises are easy to follow.
Although this is a 30 min class, your legs will be tired at the end.
We don’t put pointe shoes on in these classes. They are purely to prepare your body for pointe work so you should wear normal ballet shoes, socks or bare feet.
The number of pointe prep classes you will need before you are ready to go on to pointe varies from person to person and your instructor can advise on an individual basis.
This class is perfect for you if:
You have done pointe work previously and want to get back on to pointe, or for those who have never done pointe work and want to build up to it.
It’s really important that we work up to going on pointe gradually. We do not recommend going on pointe if you haven’t before without a series of prep classes like this.
